Sheriff’s office investigating fatal shooting in North Clark County

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting after a man allegedly fired on his roommate.

Around 7 p.m. on Monday, June 13, sheriff’s deputies responded to the 33500 block of Northeast Kelly Road after a 911 call for a firearm assault. The caller, who was not identified in a release from the sheriff’s office, said he had shot his roommate after an altercation where both individuals drew firearms.

The two allegedly exchanged gunfire and the roommate was killed, the release stated.



The sheriff’s deputies detained the caller without incident, and found his roommate dead with apparent gunshot wounds, according to the release. The name of the man who died has not been released pending the identification and notification of his next of kin.

As of Tuesday morning, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit was on scene, the release stated. The investigation is active and no arrests have been made. There was no danger to the public related to the incident, the sheriff’s office stated.
