The Washington State Association of County Treasurers has chosen Clark County Treasurer Alishia Topper as its new president for 2021-22.

“I am honored to have the privilege to serve as WSACT president for the next year. I will be working alongside a group of dedicated and professional public servants who strive to advance treasury management,” Topper said. “As county treasurers, we hold a key position of public trust in the financial affairs of local government.”

Topper said she’ll work to maintain the focus of the association’s mission. She also plans to provide a forum to promote ethical and professional standards, and provide peer support, while working to build collaborative working relationships with other “units of government.”

WSACT also chose Thurston County Treasurer Jeff Gadman as vice-president, Mason County Treasurer Lisa Frazier as secretary and Cowlitz County Treasurer Debra Gardner as treasurer, according to a WSACT news release.

The association provides a place for county treasurers to educate, advocate, mentor and support treasury management systems, stated the release.

The association elected officers at the mid-summer legislative conference held on July 22-23 in Ellensburg.
