Treasurer to open drive-thru drop-off kiosk for property tax payments

Clark County Treasurer Alishia Topper will reopen a drive-thru tax payment drop-off window for the last two days of the tax season, according to a news release from Clark County.

The kiosk is located at the east parking entrance at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 and Monday, Nov. 1.

“In response to the continued health and safety threat of COVID-19, I want to help limit the number of people waiting in our joint lobby and provide the option to drop off a payment without leaving the car,” Topper said.

The drive-thru is intended for pre-written checks only and will not provide a receipt, stated the release. No other payment methods will be accepted.

Besides the kiosk, people can seal their checks in an envelope and drop them into a secure dropbox on the first floor of the Public Service Center from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Monday through Friday. Payments can also be mailed to the Clark County Treasurer at P.O. Box 35150, Seattle, WA 98124-5150. Taxpayers should use the return envelope and payment coupon provided in their statement to mail the payments.

Property taxes can be paid online using a credit or debit card, or from a savings or checking account. Payments from checking or savings accounts are free. However, debit card payments have a flat fee of $3.95 and credit card transactions will have a 2.39% vendor fee.

To make a payment, go to clark.wa.gov/treasurer/payment-options or call 833-440-8685. To receive your tax statement electronically or manage property taxes online, go to paydici.com/clark-county-wa/search/landing

Payments need to be postmarked by Monday, Nov. 1 to avoid interest charges.
