The retail business also recognized the 23 original store associates who have been employed at Battle Ground Walmart since its opening in 2014, according to a press release.

Following opening ceremonies in the store’s parking lot, a number of community organizations, including Battle Ground Senior Citizens Inc., Battle Ground Education Foundation, Lewis River Rotary Club, Battle Ground Lions Club and Battle Ground Pride, and vendors assembled offering activities and information.

According to the press release, for the last decade, the Battle Ground Walmart and its store associates have been active in the Battle Ground community through involvement with many local organizations and events, including National Night Out, Shop with a Cop, Junior Achievement, Stuff the Bus, Battle Ground Food Bank, Battle Ground Prevention Alliance, Walk MS, Autism Society of Washington, Battle Ground Pride and Battle Ground Senior Center. The store is currently in the process of adopting its neighboring greenspace, Kiwanis Park.
