Woodland man dies after tree falls on his vehicle

A 53-year-old man from Woodland died after a tree fell and struck his vehicle on Wednesday, April 13 in Cowlitz County. 

Edward J. Norton was pronounced dead at the scene, stated a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.

Norton was traveling northbound on state Route 503 at milepost 50 when a large tree from an adjacent hillside fell and struck his vehicle. The incident took place shortly after 6:30 a.m. 

The 2011 Ford F250 Norton was driving was totaled, stated WSP.
