Woodland police car rammed in chase

An armed robbery suspect is in Cowlitz County Jail following a chase where a Woodland Police Department vehicle was rammed by the suspect.

At 8:21 p.m. on Jan. 4, the Woodland Police Department was notified that Kalama police were in pursuit of the suspect, Dustin Lee Bailey, 26, who was wanted by Longview police and the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office. WPD reported Bailey had exited into Woodland and during the pursuit he intentionally rammed a patrol car.



Following the collision, Bailey fled the vehicle, which police determined was stolen, and continued on foot. Officers from Cowlitz and Clark counties assisted in containing Bailey who was found and arrested without incident, WPD reported.

The department reported there were no injuries in the crash. Bailey was arrested for first-degree assault, robbery, attempted robbery, felony eluding and criminal impersonation.
