The Woodland Youth Sports Clay Target shooting team brought 20 members to the USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports (USAYESS) National Championships in June and came back home with 13 individual and three squad awards.
The USAYESS National Championships took place June 12 through June 15 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas.
A press release by the Woodland Youth Sports Team stated the team faced triple-digit temperatures each day at the competition, as well as challenging targets and fierce competition from around the nation.
Individual award winners were:
Logan Hathaway, Intermediate Ladies Doubles Trap — first place
Tiger and Ryker Stuart, Collegiate Men’s All Events — first and second place
Hunter Gates, JV Men’s International Skeet — second place
Ashley Huff, Senior Ladies International Skeet — second place, Trap Doubles — second place, Sporting Clays — third place
Trinity Stangel, Senior Ladies International Trap — third place
Cole Hathaway, Senior Men’s International Trap — third place
Squad award winners:
