A New Life for Lifestyles

The Reflector introduced a fresh B section in 2025

Readers of The Reflector may have noticed a big change to the first page of the newspaper’s B section in 2025.

The Reflector, led by the creativity of designer David Boehmke, introduced to readers a new section header blending the authority of a newspaper with the look of a magazine. Often, a creative headline design was accompanied by a multi-column photograph boldly portraying the week’s featured story.

The change first went to print in June, and every week since, topics, people, rich natural beauty, eateries and more have been front and center on page B1. Some of the most popular stories to feature the creative design work included a camping trip at Mount St. Helens, the Budweiser Clydesdales visiting the Clark County Fair, the grand opening of In-N-Out Burger in Ridgefield, and even a paranormal investigation at the Cedar Creek Grist Mill.

The redesign positioned the stories that shape life, creativity and conversation as a destination within each week’s edition. Numerous stories and creative designs even spread an additional page or two, inviting readers to slow down, turn the page and spend time with that story.

Entering the new year, the page design and content will only get better, affirming The Reflector’s commitment to creativity, craft and the integrity that has been our roots since 1909.
