Battle Ground residents will have another spot to grab coffee and baked goods when Al & Ernie’s Bakery Cafe opens a second location in Battle Ground Village in early 2027.
The bakery cafe announced the expansion Sept. 30. It has leased a 940-square-foot space at 802 SE 14th Place and plans to begin remodeling late 2026, according to an Al & Ernie’s Bakery Cafe press release.
Blue Castle Coffee vacated the space in August after not renewing its lease.
The new cafe, called Al & Ernie’s in the Village, will be about one-third the size of the bakery’s Main Street location. It will offer a limited selection of baked goods, espresso, coffee and tea, while the original location will continue serving its full breakfast and lunch menus.
“We are thrilled that Al & Ernie’s has been so well embraced by the community,” Devin Bowen, general manager of Al & Ernie’s Bakery Cafe, said in the release. “A second location allows us to serve the community through an intimate location, while ensuring that Battle Ground Village maintains a coffee shop for residents, employers and guests.”
The original Al & Ernie’s opened in 2024. The new location is part of the Battle Ground Hospitality Collective, owned by Battle Ground brothers Camden and Mac Spiller, who also own The Reflector. For more information, visit bghospitality.org.
