August primary voter registration deadlines approaching

Posted

Ballots for the 2023 August primary election went out Friday, July 14, though voters for a handful of local races and a ballot measure still have time to register.

Voters residing within the city of Battle Ground, the city of Woodland and Clark County Fire District 3 have votes to make in this year’s primary election. Registered voters who do not receive a ballot by Thursday, July 20, should contact the Clark County Elections Office at 564-397-2345 to request a replacement ballot, a release from the county stated.

Although replacement ballots may be requested in person at the elections office in downtown Vancouver, county staff encourages voters to request a replacement by email or by phone. After July 18, replacement ballots may also be requested or accessed electronically at VoteWA.gov to print out and return by mail or drop box.

Email requests should be sent to elections@clark.wa.gov. The mailing address is Clark County Elections Office, PO Box 8815, Vancouver, WA 98666-8815.

The last day to submit new voter registrations and updates to existing registrations online or by mail is 5 p.m. Monday, July 24. Voters may still register and update existing voter registrations after July 24, but must do so in person by the primary deadline of 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1.

The Elections Office is located at 1408 Franklin St. in downtown Vancouver and is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The process of preparing the ballot tabulation system which produces election results will begin at 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 1. Results will be posted on clarkvotes.org around 8:15 p.m.

An online voters’ guide and a sample ballot listing the ballot measures appearing on the primary election are available at the elections office website at clarkvotes.org.
