Howl-o-ween: Pooch Parade

For the second year in a row, Battle Ground Parks and Recreation is hosting its Howl-o-ween Pooch Parade and pet costume contest.

Residents are invited to dress their furry friends and join the event, which will feature treats and prizes.

The event will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St. There is a $5 application fee per canine contestant. Pre-registration is required, and registration will be accepted until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 or until the contestant roster is full. Halloween Fright Night

Battle Ground’s family-friendly Halloween Fright Night will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St. It will feature games, prizes, candy, tricks and treats. Parks and Recreation invites people to participate in the annual Trunk-or-Treat event in the east parking lot, as well. Groups or organizations who would like a spot, should contact the department at 360-342-5380.

Annual Trick or Treat Trail returning in Battle Ground

The Battle Ground Festivals association is hosting the annual Trick or Treat Trail in Battle Ground, beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. It will begin at Wilco Plaza, east on Main Street to the Battle Ground Community Center and will feature trick or treating and other festivities. According to the event Facebook page, the Battle Ground High School ROTC will assist with the crosswalks starting at 4 p.m. The event will also feature the second annual carved pumpkin contest. People are invited to drop off carved pumpkins between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 31 at 717 W. Main St. Suite 118 at the registration table in front of Main Street Floral Co. Entry is free, and three winners will receive a $50-cash prize. Pumpkins will be on display during Trick or Treat Trail. Email battlegroundfestivals@gmail.com for more information.
