Battle Ground Police Department unveils new badge design

The Battle Ground Police Department has unveiled a newly redesigned badge, introduced during the City Council meeting Jan. 5. The design was developed through a department-wide collaboration involving sworn officers and civilian staff.

The badge features a brushed silver finish and imagery reflecting the local community, including Mount St. Helens, Battle Ground Lake and a grove of western hemlock trees. A bald eagle, the U.S. flag and the city flag appear at the center of the design, according to a news release from the City of Battle Ground.

“The police badge carries tremendous significance,” Police Chief Dennis Flynn said in the release. “It is a symbol of public trust, responsibility and service. Every officer who dons it does so with the understanding that they represent the citizens they serve, and with a vow to honor, every day, what that badge stands for.”

The department will begin transitioning to the new badge this month.
