Battle Ground police seek public’s help after series of vehicle break-ins

The Battle Ground Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect connected to a series of vehicle break-ins reported across the city.

The thefts occurred between midnight and 5 a.m. in several Battle Ground neighborhoods, including Creekside Heights near Northeast 142nd Avenue and Northeast 17th Street, and Mill Creek Meadows near Northwest 4th Street and Northwest 15th Avenue. Because the incidents occurred on opposite sides of the city, investigators believe the suspect is traveling by vehicle, a City of Battle Ground news release stated.

Police have obtained multiple surveillance images of the suspect, described as a white man in his late 20s to 30s with a closely shaved head and medium build. He was seen wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans, a black beanie, a black neck gaiter and black high-top sneakers with white shoelaces.

The suspect remains at large. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact BGPD at 360-342-5200. Callers may remain anonymous, the release stated.

Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles, remove or hide valuables, keep exterior lights on and ensure home security cameras are functioning. Suspicious activity should be reported by calling 911 for emergencies or 311 for non-emergencies.
