On March 3, Battle Ground Police Department Sergeant Julia MacPhee took her ceremonial oath of office, marking a significant milestone in her law enforcement career. MacPhee was joined by her father, who traveled from Arizona to pin the badge on her dress blues.
MacPhee’s law enforcement journey began with the Portland Police Bureau in its records division and as a reserve officer in Scappoose, Oregon. She joined the Battle Ground Police Department in 2015 as an entry-level officer and quickly rose through the ranks. With a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice, she has spent nearly 10 years with the BGPD, earning certifications in various advanced investigation techniques.
