The remaining members of the Battle Ground High School class of 1960 celebrated their 65-year reunion at Prairie Tavern on Saturday, Sept. 27.
“We probably have, oh, I’m going to say 30 graduates here,” 1960 graduate Gloria Walck said. “Our class was about 190. Sad to say our deceased list is getting a little longer than it used to be. But it’s good to see people that you don’t see on a daily basis or weekly basis because there’s a lot of us that still live in Battle Ground and the outlying areas.”
The class still gathers on a monthly basis at Old Town Burgers and Breakfast in Battle Ground. Walck said she’d love to see more graduates attend.
Walck said the class has always been a tight-knit group, which has continued every year since graduating. When asked about a favorite memory from her senior year, Walck, with a couple of other graduates, joked, “Not that we could probably share.”
