Battle Ground Public Schools is selling discounted movie tickets to support the Futures Transition Program, which helps students ages 18 to 22 with disabilities build independence through employment, life skills and community engagement.
Tickets for Battle Ground Cinema, located at 1700 SW Ninth Ave., Battle Ground, cost $8 each. Tickets may be purchased online from Oct. 6–31, with a second round of tickets available Nov. 3–28. Tickets may be picked up at the Futures Dodge House, located at 612 NW Ninth St., Battle Ground, or can be delivered to school campuses, according to a BGPS news release.
The Futures Transition Program provides students with hands-on experience at on and off-campus worksites across Battle Ground and Vancouver. Participants develop practical skills such as budgeting, cooking, using public transportation and demonstrating appropriate workplace and social behavior.
