C-TRAN brings on-demand rideshare service to Battle Ground

Battle Ground residents now have a new way to get around town.

C-TRAN’s on-demand rideshare service, The Current, launched in the city Sunday, Sept. 14, expanding the agency’s coverage across Clark County.

The service operates seven days a week within Battle Ground city limits. Riders can book same-day or scheduled trips to any destination inside the zone, or connect directly to Route 7 for service to Vancouver Mall Transit Center and beyond.

“The Current is a key part of C-TRAN’s transportation network, and we’re thrilled to bring this type of on-demand service to Battle Ground for the first time,” C-TRAN Chief Executive Officer Leann M. Caver said in a news release. “More transportation options create more access and opportunity. I want to thank our partners in Battle Ground for their support in making this exciting change a reality.”

The Current first launched in 2022 with five service zones: Camas/Washougal, Ridgefield/La Center, WSU Vancouver/Salmon Creek, Rose Village and the Port of Vancouver. Battle Ground is the sixth zone. Its hours mirror those in most other areas: 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

The app-based service has grown steadily, logging more than 34,000 trips in 2024.

The expansion was part of broader service changes that took effect this week. C-TRAN also rolled out a new Route 12 serving the 112th Avenue corridor in Vancouver, adjusted routes 19 and 92, and added more trips on several existing lines.
