The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Team was recently featured on the national true-crime series “People Magazine Investigates: Surviving a Serial Killer.”
The episode, titled “Surviving the Washington Woodsman,” focuses on the investigation into serial killer Warren Forrest and highlights the ongoing work connected to the case.
Retired Clark County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Doug Maas is featured in the episode. Maas worked on the original Warren Forrest investigation in 1974 and continues to assist with the case as a volunteer investigator with the CCSO Cold Case Team.
The sheriff’s office recognized Maas and other members of the volunteer Cold Case Team for their continued work on homicide and missing persons cases that remain unsolved decades later.
According to the agency, the team’s efforts help keep attention on victims and their families while continuing the pursuit of justice in long-running investigations.
