The city of Battle Ground has joined the city of Ridgefield as the two cities with a new Active Development Map to allow users easier access in finding active private development projects in city limits.
The city of Ridgefield has had the feature for a lengthy period, providing a map and status details on private development projects ranging from industrial, commercial and residential. The city of Battle Ground’s Community Development Department launched the website addition last week amid the city experiencing a commercial and residential project boom.
On the map as of Friday, May 9, there were roughly 25 residential projects underway at various stages of development, while there were around 20 commercial projects and a few mixed-use developments.
“When our visitors view the map, they will see parcels highlighted by various colors indicating the type of project at each location, i.e. residential development, commercial development, etc …” Smith stated. “They can then click on a highlighted parcel to learn more about the project, including the project number, name, brief description, and the current status. We are very excited to have a more user-friendly way to provide this information to the public. ”
The projects included are in various stages of development, from pre-application filing through completion, Alisha Smith, Battle Ground communications manager, stated in an email.
The status details available on the page assist users in understanding where each project on the map sits in the process.
Status details include:
• Pre-application held: City staff has submitted and reviewed a pre-application. At this stage, only preliminary design concepts are reviewed against the current City code to prepare an applicant for formal land use application submittal.
• In Review: Application is technically complete and is being reviewed by City staff.
• Preliminary Approval: Project has received land use approval. Civil engineering or building permits may be in review.
• Ready for Construction: Project has received land use and civil approval. Building permits may be in review.
• Under Construction: Project has received all land use and civil approvals, and building permits have been issued.
• Completed: Final plat has been recorded or occupancy has been given.
