Appraisers from the Clark County Assessor’s Office will perform physical inspections of residential and commercial property through February as work began on Oct. 20 to inspect and revalue approximately one-sixth of real property in Clark County, as mandated by law.
Property owners may see appraisers in marked county vehicles as they review a person’s property for updates or changes since the last physical inspection.
“They may even take a picture of the property in order to update county records,” stated a news release. “Residential appraisers normally do not leave their vehicles during revaluation inspections.”
If a person sees an appraiser, they don’t need to do anything unless they are asked, stated the release. An appraiser may have questions about changes to a property or may leave a door hanger if they would like a person to contact them.
Properties that are leased and rented also need to be assessed, stated the release. If a person who is leasing or renting a property is asked about updates, they can answer the questions or refer the appraise to the owner.
