Peyton has 19 years of legal experience in Clark County, most recently as supervising attorney at Vancouver Defenders. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Western Washington University and her law degree from Willamette University College of Law, a news release by Clark County stated.

“The county was fortunate to have several exceptional candidates for this position,” Council Chair Sue Marshall said in the news release. “On behalf of the council, congratulations to Megan Peyton and sincere appreciation to all who applied to serve.”

All six Clark County District Court judge seats are up for reelection in 2026.
