Clark County growth plan update reaches environmental review milestone

Posted

Clark County has released its Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for proposed updates to comprehensive growth management plans for Clark County and seven local jurisdictions.

The county prepared the FEIS as part of the Comprehensive Growth Management Plan update process, a long-range effort to guide growth and development in Clark County and surrounding jurisdictions.

The FEIS examines potential environmental impacts of the proposed plan updates and identifies possible measures to reduce those impacts. Its release completes the required environmental review process for the plan update, according to a Clark County news release.

The update involves Clark County and the cities of Battle Ground, Camas, La Center, Ridgefield, Washougal and Woodland, as well as the town of Yacolt. The process is part of the 10-year periodic review required under the Growth Management Act.

Agencies, affected tribes and members of the public may comment on the FEIS during upcoming public hearings on the comprehensive plan updates. The county said hearing dates will be announced in late summer and fall. There will not be a separate hearing for the FEIS.

Readers can access the FEIS online at shorturl.at/QPMJb. The county also has printed copies available for review at the Clark County Public Service Center and various city halls and libraries throughout the county. A complete list of locations is available at clark.wa.gov.
