Clark County recording fees to increase following legislative decision

Posted

Recording fees for certain documents in Clark County will increase starting Saturday, July 27, following changes approved by the Washington State Legislature in House Bill 1858.

Marriage license fees will rise from $72 to $172. The additional $100 will support a statewide co-responder program for domestic violence incidents, a news release by Clark County stated.

The legislation also removes previous exemptions for documents that transfer ownership or trusteeship of loan documents. As a result, the recording fee for the first page of those documents will now be $301, the release stated.
