Clark County seeks applicants for Public Health Advisory Council

The Clark County Board of Health is seeking applicants for six volunteer positions on the Public Health Advisory Council.

The available positions include three for public health service consumers, one for a social or human services agency, one dentist and one youth representative from the Youth Commission, Youth House or a local high school or college.

Most selected applicants will serve three-year terms beginning Oct. 1 and ending Sept. 30, 2029. The youth representative will fill an unexpired term ending Sept. 30, 2027, according to a Clark County news release.

The council reviews public health needs and makes recommendations to the Board of Health and Clark County Public Health. Members meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month, except December, via Zoom, with one quarterly meeting held in person.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Aug. 31. Applicants should submit a letter of interest and résumé to Jake Goodwin at jake.goodwin@clark.wa.gov or by mail to the County Manager’s Office, PO Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000.
