A Clark County soccer coach has been charged with child molestation on alleged offenses dating back to 2018, court records state.

On Sept. 23, Troy Redinger, 55, pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree molestation and other charges. Redinger’s bail was set at $50,000. He is scheduled for a pre-trial readiness hearing on Dec. 1.

According to a probable cause affidavit for Redinger’s arrest, law enforcement first learned of his alleged offenses through Child Protective Services. One victim had told both her mother and her therapist that she had been “touched sexually” by Redinger. The victim also reported Redinger “held a gun on her body and pulled the trigger,” though a shot was not fired.

Though the victim could not give an exact timeline the alleged abuse occurred, investigators determined it could have been as early as 2018 when the victim hit puberty. All of the incidents were while the victim was clothed, according to the affidavit.

The victim told investigators Redinger would climb into bed with her and put his hands on the victim’s genital area. The victim said Redinger would not stop touching her even when she told him to stop.

The victim’s sister also reported she was sexually abused by Redinger, the affidavit stated.

Another victim reported he was slapped by Redinger which left a handprint that lasted for a few days, the affidavit stated. After that incident was reported, the victim’s mother got a protection order against Redinger which required him to turn in his firearms. He turned in two dozen firearms, but the mother reported Redinger still had several more “and a closet full of ammunition” at his home.

According to information from the U.S. Soccer Learning Center, Redinger was placed on a temporary suspension on Sept. 28 due to allegations of misconduct. The center did not list which team Redinger coached for.
