Registration for Clark Public Utilities (CPU) annual Race for Warmth, held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, has opened for walkers, runners and bikers.
Registration is $40 per person, and registration is available until 8:15 a.m. on race day with an additional $10 fee. Participants are encouraged to register online by Tuesday, Dec. 31, to ensure they receive a Race for Warmth long-sleeve shirt, the CPU race registration website stated. Registration is available at clarkpublicutilities.com/event/race-for-warmth.
Participants may also join the Race for Warmth virtually. Virtual participants select their own start time and finish line and receive a shirt, bib number, participation medal and race swag like an in-person racer, the registration website stated.
The race will begin at Clark Public Utilities at 1200 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. A kids race will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 10k run at 9 a.m. A 5k walk will begin at 9:15 a.m. The bike route will begin at 9 a.m. at Hudson’s Bay High School, 1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd., Vancouver.
Proceeds from Race for Warmth registration fund CPU’s Operation Warm Heart, which helps local families pay for their winter heating bills. Race for Warmth has raised nearly $500,000 to cover bills for low-income families in the past, the website stated.
