Clark Public Utilities is inviting volunteers of all ages to celebrate a milestone of 1 million trees planted by the Clark Public Utilities StreamTeam.

Those interested can help restore critical habitat with the StreamTeam members as they celebrate their volunteers on the upcoming national Make a Difference Day.

“Each tree will improve local water quality, provide habitat for wildlife and supply food for

Pollinators,” a release by CPU stated. “Be prepared to have a good time, get your hands dirty, meet new people, and make a difference in our community.”

The event will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at Battle Ground Lake State Park. Specific location and parking directions will be included after pre-registration, which is required. Following planting in the morning, there will be lunch and music at noon. Visit ClarkPublicUtilities.com/StreamTeam for information and registration links. People can als contact Stephanie Frisch at 360-992-8585, or email StreamTeam@clarkpud.com for specific questions.

The event will take place regardless of the weather and include on-site training, and all tools and trees will be provided by the Clark Public Utilities StreamTeam. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring reusable water bottles and mugs.
