The Battle Ground High School class of 1953 will celebrate its 70-year anniversary since graduating at an open house from 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Kiwanis building in Kiwanis Park, south of Burgerville in Battle Ground. Friends of classmates are welcome to attend. Photos of the group will be taken at 2 p.m. The class had 125 graduates. They were the first class to attend a full year at the “new” building, as opposed to the old brick two-story building, near the current gymnasium complex. Five classmates recently attended the Celebration of Life for Mr. David Kooken, one of their favorite teachers and senior class adviser.
