Lunch and Learn: RSVP required. On Wednesday, Aug. 16, the Battle Ground Senior Citizens, Inc. will have its Lunch and Learn series at the Battle Ground Senior Center, 116 N.E. Third Ave. in Battle Ground. The topic will be home health versus home care. Lunch will be provided, and a maximum of 50 seats are available. Summer playground program: Through Aug. 17. The free eight-week program provided by the Battle Ground Parks and Recreation Department is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 12 and brings summer activities to parks in the city each week. Each week will feature a different themed activity and provides children the opportunity to play games and create arts and crafts projects. Session locations and times are from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays at Kiwanis Park at 422 S.W. Second Ave., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Cresap Park at 1911 S.E. Second Place, 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays at Whispering Pines Park at 715 N.E. 27th St., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at Kiwanis Park at 422 S.W. Second Ave., and from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays at Florence Robison Park South at 1900 N.W. Tractor Supply grand opening in Ridgefield: Tractor Supply Company in Ridgefield will celebrate its grand opening of its store Thursday, Aug. 17-Sunday, Aug. 20. Battle Ground High School Class of 1953 70th anniversary open house: 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Kiwanis building in Kiwanis Park, south of Burgerville in Battle Ground. Friends of classmates are welcome to attend. Photos of the group will be taken at 2 p.m. 

Car Show: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19. The Slo Poks will be hosting its car show on Main Street in uptown Vancouver. They advise participants to arrive early and enter on the corner of McLoughlin and Main Street. The event is open to all hot rods, customs, bikes, rat rods and collector cars and will cost $15 plus a school supplies donation. ‘Wine, Nine and Dine’: 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 19. The Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland will host its Wine, Nine and Dine event with wine and appetizer reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. shotgun start. Dedication for new interpretive plaque at Summit Grove Lodge: 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20. Historic Summit Grove Lodge in partnership with Hannah Mayhew Daggett Chapter, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, in Vancouver and the Clark County Historical Museum (CCHM) will dedicate a new historical interpretive plaque at Summit Grove Lodge. The event will include a welcome and dedication by representatives from Summit Grove Lodge and the Colf Family, remarks from Cynthia Swanson, State Marking & Preservation Chair of CDXVIIC, and brief comments from the Clark County Historical Museum Executive Director Brad Richardson. This new historical interpretive plaque highlights the important history of Summit Grove Lodge. Summit Grove Lodge is located at 30810 Northeast Timmen Road in Ridgefield. Lewis River Rotary Meeting: 5:45 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22. The social event meeting will take place at The Prairie Tavern located at 14925 Northeast Caples Road. 

Grow and Arrange Cut Flowers Year-Round Workshop: 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23. Join Master Gardener and professional florist Jayne DiMarco for a talk on planning a cut flower garden. Master Gardener Foundation free presentation: 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Join WSU Master Gardener Russ Wegner for a free presentation titled “Hops!” Wegner has grown hops for many years. Friday night cruise-ins: 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday through Sept. 15. Alderbrook Park welcomes all special interest cars, trucks and bikes at its cruise-in events. Participating vehicles need to pay $10 to enter, and only cash is accepted. Tickets for adult spectators cost $8 per person, while tickets for children ages 4 to 13 cost $5. Children 3 and under can enter for free. Cash or card is accepted for spectator entrance. The events will host food trucks, an espresso cart, cafe snack shacks, a beer garden and other vendors. Bliss Yoga: 9 to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesdays and from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays at the BG Holistic Hub and Apothecary, 314 N.E. First Ave., suite 101, in Battle Ground; 6 to 7:15 p.m. on Mondays and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Fridays at 7614 N.E. 279th St. in Battle Ground. Classes include gentle poses, meditation and relaxation.
