6th Annual Ridgefield Multicultural Festival: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 2, at Overlook Park in downtown Ridgefield. This year’s theme is “Beats and Rhythm.” There is a full line-up of artists including the taiko drum group Takohachi; Portland Samba; the chicha, cumbia and afro-Peruvian music of Grupo Masato; African dance and drum group Kaagba Ohenaa; emcee King Khazm; Master Oh’s taekwondo team and more. Yacolt Mutt Strut: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, from Yacolt Town Park to the Yacolt Recreational Park. The Mutt Strut will be a 1.1 mile walk/run through the Town of Yacolt starting at the town park and ending at the recreational park to raise money/awareness for the Church of Pug. Friday night cruise-ins: 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday through Sept. 15. Alderbrook Park welcomes all special interest cars, trucks and bikes at its cruise-in events. Participating vehicles need to pay $10 to enter, and only cash is accepted. Tickets for adult spectators cost $8 per person, while tickets for children ages 4 to 13 cost $5. Children 3 and under can enter for free. Cash or card is accepted for spectator entrance. The events will host food trucks, an espresso cart, cafe snack shacks, a beer garden and other vendors. The Upcycled Garden Workshop (Learn and Serve):  10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Sept. 16 at Pacific Park Natural Demonstration Garden, 1515 N.E. 164th Ave., Vancouver (enter from Northeast 172nd). Learn how to build durable raised garden beds with inexpensive materials. Participants are asked to provide 45 minutes of service in the East Vancouver demonstration garden afterward.
