Award-winning Western songwriter Kerry Grombacher will present “Songs and Stories of the American West” at four of the Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries including Ridgefield. Friday night cruise-ins: 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday through Sept. 15. Alderbrook Park welcomes all special interest cars, trucks and bikes at its cruise-in events. Participating vehicles need to pay $10 to enter, and only cash is accepted. Tickets for adult spectators cost $8 per person, while tickets for children ages 4 to 13 cost $5. Children 3 and under can enter for free. Cash or card is accepted for spectator entrance. The events will host food trucks, an espresso cart, cafe snack shacks, a beer garden and other vendors. The Upcycled Garden Workshop (Learn and Serve):  10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Sept. 16 at Pacific Park Natural Demonstration Garden, 1515 N.E. 164th Ave., Vancouver (enter from Northeast 172nd). Learn how to build durable raised garden beds with inexpensive materials. Participants are asked to provide 45 minutes of service in the East Vancouver demonstration garden afterward.
