Ridgefield City Council meeting: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9 at the RACC - Columbia Assembly Room, 510 Pioneer St., Ridgefield. The city council packet is available online at ridgefieldwa.iqm2.com/citizens.

Tailgate book sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 10 and Saturday, Sept. 11 at 828 Goerig St., Woodland. Friends of Woodland Community Library will have books, including mystery, fiction, romance, children, and more, available in pickup trucks at the future site of the new library.  You can fill one of the group’s bags with books for $8. Mad Hatter’s Club meeting: 11:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 10 at Happy Family Chinese Restaurant, 611 E. Main St., Battle Ground.

Battle Ground Art Alliance sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at Kiwanis Park, 422 SW Second Ave., Battle Ground. The art alliance will host an outdoor art sale. No kits or mass-produced items will be allowed and the alliance asks for entries to be family-friendly. Experience Ridgefield event: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center at 510 Pioneer St., Ridgefield. Families are invited to attend Experience Ridgefield after the event was canceled last year. The community carnival features family-friendly activities like an inflatable bouncy house, miniature golf, face painting and a selfie photo booth. Craft and food vendors will also be in attendance. United Brethren Church: Noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Amboy United Brethren Church building, 21416 NE 399th St., Amboy. The church will be open to the public. Admission is free and donations are welcome. Masks will be required inside the building. The church will celebrate its 101st anniversary with an open house on Sept. 25. Ridgefield Oktoberfest: 2 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at Overlook Park, 113-131 S. Main Ave. Enjoy German-style food, local beers and live music at the annual Ridgefield Oktoberfest. Michael Fischer Oompah Band and Countryside Ride will take the stage and vendors, like Urban German and the Ridgefield Lions Club, will provide Bavarian menu items. Attendees can also watch wiener dog races, a costume contest and other games. Battin’ for Blue Softball Tournament: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex, 3101 S. Hillhurst Road, Ridgefield. Ten teams will compete in the first Battin’ for Blue Softball Tournament for bragging rights and a trophy. Teams will have a maximum of 15 people each, with at least five of them being female.

Supper and social: 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at Pomeroy Farm, 20902 NE Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt. Pomeroy Living History Farm’s third annual fundraiser dinner will provide tours of the historic grounds, yard games, a silent auction, dinner and drinks. Tickets for the fundraiser cost $75 for individuals or $525 for a table of eight. Tickets include a full course dinner, two drink tokens and access to games. Gun show and sale: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12 at Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds. Big Top will display sporting, competition and personal safety items in addition to accessories and training. Admission costs $10 or $5 for military members with an ID. Senior Center Luncheon: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13 at the Battle Ground Senior Center, 116 NE Third Ave., Battle Ground.

Anniversary celebration of Amboy church: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Amboy United Brethren Church building, 21416 NE 399th St., Amboy. North Clark Historical Museum will celebrate the 101st anniversary of the church with an open house, tours, exhibits, and a short program at 2 p.m. There will also be outdoor activities, pie and ice cream. Quilt raffle tickets for the “Prairie Sampler” quilt made by the Chelatchie Quilters will be available and a reprint of the mid-century UB Ladies Aide Cookbook will be available for the purchase. This is the museum’s annual fundraiser. Masks will be required inside the building. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Furry Friends auction: Wednesday through Saturday, Sept. 15-18 online. For the nonprofit’s 13th annual online auction, those interested can bid on items, like a beach getaway valued at $1,050 or a hand-carved white jade cabbage valued at $500. Museum Day: Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver. This event, hosted by Smithsonian magazine, allows for anyone with a Museum Day ticket to gain free entry into participating museums and cultural institutions across the country. Mental health first aid: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18 at La Center Evangelical Church, 111 E. 5th St., La Center. Trainer Curtis Miller, in collaboration with La Center United, will provide young adults mental health and suicide prevention training through the Youth Mental Health First Aid USA program. The free training lasts about eight hours. It will address unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health issues in adolescents. Lunch will be provided.
