Despite gnarly weather conditions in the month of December, community members have kept spirits bright thanks to the sparkling displays of Christmas decorations lighting up the night.
Neighborhoods across Clark County have transformed into enchanting holiday wonderlands with decor adorning homes.
In Ridgefield, the beloved Candy Cane Lane lights up dozens of homes in Christmas cheer with flashing LED lights, classic light displays, inflatable snowmen and Santa Claus, and so much more. Throughout the city of Battle Ground, residents had the opportunity to vote on their favorite residential Christmas display in the fourth annual rendition of a contest the city has dubbed the “Battle of Lights.”
On Christmas Eve, a relaxing drive with cups of hot chocolate throughout Clark County can provide a visual spectacle as the festive displays bring communities together, illuminating the darkest month of the year.
Houses throughout Clark County feature vibrant displays that can be synced to music. Many displays feature favorite Christmas characters, while some stick to traditional classic reds, whites and greens with yards full of blow-mold decorations.
Candy Cane Lane is located in the neighborhood on the northwest side of the North 35th Avenue and Pioneer Street intersection in Ridgefield.
Winners of the “Battle of Lights” in Battle Ground were announced after press time on Monday, Dec. 22, but residents can still explore the city thanks to a tour of lights map linked to the city’s website at cityofbg.org/934/Battle-of-Lights---Holiday-Decorating-Co.
