Coroner IDs two people who died recently at Cowlitz County lake

The Cowlitz County Coroner’s Office has identified the remains of two men who died on different days in the past month at Woodland’s Horseshoe Lake.

The Cowlitz County Coroner office identified the body of Julio Ferrusca Tellez, 27, of Portland, from Woodland’s Horseshoe Lake on July 13.

Cowlitz County Coroner Dana Tucker wrote in the press release that the cause of Tellez’s death is still pending an investigation.

Erin Elizabeth, a public information officer for Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue, told The Daily News the man they assisted on July 13 at the lake had a medical incident.

Tucker’s office also confirmed the identity of William Pryor, 62, of Longview whose remains were pulled from Horseshoe Lake on the afternoon of June 30.

Pryor’s cause of death was determined to be asphyxia due to freshwater drowning, with the manner of death was ruled an accident.
