Clark County is accepting applications for its eight-week Composter Recycler volunteer training program, which begins Wednesday, Jan. 28. Applications are due by Wednesday, Jan. 21.
The free program teaches low-waste and sustainable living practices, including composting, recycling and reducing household toxic chemicals. Participants who complete the course commit to volunteering at least 25 hours by the end of the year to help educate the community through events and workshops, according to a Clark County news release.
Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays at Waste Connections of Washington, located at 9411 NE 94th Ave. in Vancouver. The program also includes a tour of a waste transfer station and hands-on composting field training.
