The Clark County Council is accepting applications for two volunteer positions on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission, due by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 31.
The commission advises the county on solid waste issues, including garbage collection, landfills, transfer stations, and waste-reduction programs, according to a Clark County news release.
Applications are open for two representative positions, the news release stated. The northern Clark County representative must reside north of 179th Street and west of State Highway 503, with their term beginning June 1. The southwestern Clark County representative must reside south of 179th Street and west of State Highway 503, with their term beginning July 1.
The commission encourages applications from residents with a passion for waste reduction, education, outreach or experience in multifamily housing. Candidates who can bring ethnic, cultural, social and geographic diversity to the group are also encouraged to apply.
