Battle Ground organizations will receive over $900,000 as part of the state’s 2024-25 supplemental capital budget, which the Washington state House of Representatives approved on March 7.

According to a news release, Battle Ground Health Care Clinic will receive $400,000, Battle Ground Senior Center will receive $309,000, and $258,000 will go toward installation of Battle Ground Public Schools distributed antenna system.

Reps. Greg Cheney and Stephanie McClintock helped secure the 18th District project funding and were pleased to see many district projects were included, according to a news release.

“These district-funded projects underscore our commitment to addressing pressing needs such as behavioral health and recovery, while also contributing to community development projects and infrastructure,” Cheney, R-Battle Ground, said. “It has been a privilege to collaborate with my colleagues in delivering tangible benefits to our constituents.”

The supplemental capital budget will provide nearly $18 million in funding for projects across the 18th district. In addition to the Battle Ground projects, funding will be provided to Madrona Recovery, Florence Robison North Park, Glenwood Little League and the Wallace Heights septic elimination project.

“Every one of these projects is important to the people of our district, and they will all have a significant impact in our communities,” McClintock, R-Vancouver, said.

The final 2024-25 supplemental capital budget will spend $1.33 billion across Washington, with $130.6 million coming from the sale of general obligation bonds. The remaining $1.2 billion is from a combination of Climate Commitment Act accounts, Common School Construction Fund and other accounts. The budget makes significant investments in K-12 school construction, behavioral health and substance abuse treatment facilities, housing, early learning facilities, infrastructure and other projects in local communities across the state, according to the news release.

“This budget stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and bipartisan effort,” Cheney said. “Through strategic advocacy for projects and allocation of funds, we’re not only investing in infrastructure and community services, but also in the future of the 18th District and all of Washington.”
