Woodland High School was evacuated on Nov. 9 after the city’s police department received a call reporting a bomb at the school.
According to the Woodland Police Department, the caller was transferred to Cowlitz 911 so more information could be obtained. The caller stated there was one bomb located in a classroom at the school, stated the police department on social media.
Officers conducted a thorough check of the interior and exterior of the building.
“After completing a search of the school, the school was turned back over to WHS staff,” stated the police department.
The origin of the call is being investigated in an attempt to locate the person responsible for the threat.
Because of the threat, and a previous one that came in on Oct. 10, the FBI has been contacted and will assist in the investigation, stated the police department.
During the incident, the Woodland Police Department requested assistance from the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol, the Kalama Police Department and Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue.
