The City of Ridgefield is set to begin construction on a new Fieldhouse at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex, which will add a protective building around the batting cages and facilities for year-round, all-weather usage.
The playground and southern trail within the work zone at the recreation complex will be closed during construction. The area will reopen after the fieldhouse is constructed, which is slated for completion by May, a news release by the City of Ridgefield stated.
In addition to the protective building, an umpire office and storage room will be added to the recreation complex facilities, the news release stated.
