A wildfire near Larch Mountain has grown to 150 acres as of Monday, the Washington state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reported.

The department first announced the fire on social media Sunday evening. It was initially estimated at 70 acres before the department reported the increased size Monday.

DNR has established an incident management team for the blaze, called the Nakia Creek fire by the department.

As of Monday no evacuation orders were given due to the fire, which the department described as having “active fire behavior.” Access between the L-1600 Road at the Jones Creek off-road vehicle Trailhead and the L-1500 Road at Four Corners is closed due to the fire, including all motorized trails in the Jones Creek and Hagen Creek systems, as well as the Larch Mountain Trailhead.

The department asks the public to avoid the area as the fire burns.
