Clark County is seeking five applicants for open positions on the county Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board.

The county needs one at-large member, one dog owner, a veterinarian or vet tech practicing in Clark County, a pet owner with an animal other than a dog or cat, and a facility owner.

Board members meet quarterly at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month, a news release from the county stated. Currently, meetings are held virtually through Microsoft Teams.

The 10-member board recommends potential changes to services and modifications to code that will promote animal welfare and the most efficient animal services possible, the release stated. The board also acts as an appeals hearing tribunal on minor appeals of notices of violations, and promotes Clark County Animal Protection and Control, including its licensing of all dogs and cats.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. Those interested can download an application online at clark.wa.gov/community-development/ani
