The City of Vancouver and Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will host A Flight Through Time at Pearson Field, a free event celebrating aviation history with activities for all ages.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Pearson Field and the Pearson Field Air Museum, located at 1115 E. Fifth St., Vancouver.
Visitors can enjoy guided walking tours, museum exhibits, flight simulators, static aircraft and vintage cars, paper airplane competitions, live music, food vendors and more, according to a City of Vancouver news release.
The event will also feature the unveiling of a Compass Rose mural by The 99s, a talk by local historian Martin Middlewood and aviation safety workshops presented by the Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team and the Washington Pilots Association.
Free C-TRAN shuttle service will run every 30 minutes between Pearson Field and parking lot A, 405 E. Fifth St., Vancouver, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no parking at Pearson Field, and visitors are encouraged to use the shuttle or nearby street parking.
