Former Clark County Council Chair Eileen Quiring O’Brien has announced her candidacy for Clark County auditor.
In a social media post announcing her campaign, O’Brien cited more than 30 years of public service, including prior service in the Oregon Legislature and on the Clark County Council. She said her priorities as auditor would include fiscal oversight, transparent reporting and open county operations.
“I will also protect your sacred right to vote. Clark County deserves election systems that are transparent, fair, accurate and secure,” O’Brien said in the post. “If improvements are required, I will address them quickly and openly. Your trust in our elections will always be my priority.”
O’Brien represented District 4 on the Clark County Council from 2017 to 2018 and was elected countywide as council chair in November 2018. She retired from the council in 2022.
O’Brien said she plans to launch a campaign website in the coming months.
