The La Center Wildcats volleyball squad and Hockinson girls soccer team found themselves both seeded sixth in their respective tournaments during the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s state seeding on Sunday, Nov. 9.

The Wildcat volleyball team will face off against No. 11 seed Lakeside High School on Friday, Nov. 14, at 9 a.m. to kick off the 1A state tournament. A win advances the Wildcats to the quarterfinals to face off the winner of Cascade Christian versus Columbia (White Salmon) later that day at 4:15 p.m.

A loss will send the Wildcats to win-or-go-home matchups in the losers bracket. The Wildcats would face the loser of Cascade Christian versus Columbia (White Salmon) on Nov. 14 at 2:30 p.m.

In girls soccer, the Hockinson Hawks get their start in the 2A state tournament against Port Angeles High School either on Tuesday, Nov. 11, or Wednesday, Nov. 12. The date and time were not announced as of press time. If the Hawks win, they will face the winner of No. 14 seed Ellensburg versus No. 3 seed Sehome in a game at the higher seed on either Friday, Nov. 14, or Saturday, Nov. 15.

Also in girls soccer, the Prairie Falcons punched their ticket into the 3A state tournament by earning second place in the 3A Greater St. Helens League District 4 tournament as 3A sports will not participate in bi-districts and take their two state bids through a league tournament.

The Falcons enter with the final spot, the No. 20 seed, and will play at No. 13 seed Enumclaw on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. for a chance to play at No. 4 seed Eastside Catholic on Friday, Nov. 14.
