In loving memory of Alan Pierce: 1937-2022

Posted

Alan D. Pierce, 85, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife holding his hand on Nov. 25, 2022.

He was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Portland, Oregon, to Bert and Gwendolyn (King) Pierce. His family soon moved to Battle Ground, Washington, where he grew up along with his older brother Dick Pierce and younger brother Larry Pierce. He often said that as soon as he learned to walk he headed north over the interstate bridge.

He moved to Brinnon, Washington, in January of 2000. There, he enjoyed boating, the bounty of the canal and eating the catch of the day.

Alan will be remembered for helping others, his sense of humor, his patience and ability to teach others how to repair broken items and his avid love of reading.

Alan is survived by his wife Pamela Pierce; his favorite daughters Janet Pierce, Michelle Peterson and Kristy (Marty) Mason; he was blessed by 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brothers Dick (Shirley) Pierce and Larry (JoLynn) Pierce.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bert and Gwen Pierce, his sons Lonnie Mesick and Monty Pierce, and great-grandson Michael McCleery.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Brush Prairie Cemetery.

Friends are invited to join the family for a potluck at Debbie and Terry Morton’s home following the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Layne's Funeral Home.
