Alfred James Charlson was born June 30, 1928, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota and passed away March 26, 2023, in Brush Prairie, Washington at the age of 94 years.
He is survived by his second wife Mae Annette Charlson; eight children, Sonja with Butch Korpela, Nancy with Richard Sarkkinen, Daniel and Ruth Charlson, Mike and Mary Jo Charlson, Kay with Jack Lee, Randy and Joanna Charlson, Debbie with Ken Hendrickson and David and Cindy Charlson; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Esther Charlson (Ek), of 66 years on Aug. 20, 2013.
Al was known and loved for his loving, patient and caretaking nature. Al was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and held a firm belief in the truth of this living doctrine. He set a good example through his simple belief as a penitent sinner.
A funeral was held at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Brush Prairie on March 29, 2023.
