In loving memory of Allan Arvidson: 1939 - 2026

Posted
Oscar Arvidson was born in Vancouver, Washington, to Albert and Cherrie Arvidson on Aug. 16, 1939. Oscar descended from a family of farmers originally from Sweden. Oscar chose a livelihood in farming. He farmed all over Clark County, mostly in the East Mill Plain area. Oscar took up the accordion as a hobby, and it became an important part of his life. He played solo in many venues all over the region and with the Country Gospel band weekly at his church.

Survivors include Julee Piper; Oscar and Julee’s daughter, Sheryl Piper; grandson Skyler Piper; brother Jay Arvidson; cousin Jim Arvidson; and others from the English (i.e., English Estate Winery) and the Arvidson family.

Special thank you to Julee Piper, PeaceHealth Hospital and Hospice, Polly’s Country Adult Home Inc., where he was allowed to have his special bird, PB; and his special friends, Chuck White and Mike Ginter.

A celebration of life will be held at Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene, 7000 NE 169th Ave., Vancouver, Washington 98682, on April 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
