In loving memory of Harold Dean Harmon 1941-2024

Harold Dean Harmon, of Brush Prairie, died on Feb. 5, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born on Feb. 1, 1941, in Billings, Montana, to Henry and Lydia Harmon. He was one of a family of nine children, including a twin brother.

He joined the Army at age 18 and served two years. He moved to Yakima, Washington, in 1962 and met his wife, Betty. They married in 1964 and then moved to Vancouver in 1970. They moved to Brush Prairie in 1973. He worked at a number of jobs, including at a plywood plant and as a carpenter, loan officer, realtor and truck driver. He loved farming and spent several years working his wheat farm in Centerville, Washington. He particularly loved John Deere tractors and antique farm equipment.

He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Gerald; brother, Bob; and sister, Shirley. He is survived by his brothers, Leo, Ron and Don; sisters, Della and Bonnie; wife, Betty; sons, Joseph, James and Jeremy (Brenda); daughter, Jeniece (Thomas); nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He fought long, hard battles with many illnesses, including a stroke in 2015 that left him with limited physical mobility. He loved his family dearly and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather (papa) and great-grandfather. He is loved and greatly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral was held on Feb. 12, 2024.
