It’s with great sadness the Cook family announces the death of their brother, James (Jim) Wayne Cook. He was a loving husband to Caroline and father to Melissa Ordway-Cook, Jessica Staggs, Erica, Margret and Levi.
He is survived by his mother, Rose Cook; brothers, Dale Cook (Norma) and Mark Cook (Billie Jo); sister, Kandi Anderson (Jack); and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jerry.
Jim was born October 26, 1959, and passed away Jan. 8, 2025, near the end of Little Kalama River Road, Woodland, Washington, where members of his family lived since 1937.
Jim attended grade and junior high school in Woodland and high school at Columbia Adventist Academy in Meadow Glade.
Jim worked as a logger for 12 years in the Woodland area and Alaska. He also worked at Columbia Carbonate for 10 years and at Hamilton Dry Wall two years.
An auto accident in 2001 left him semi-disabled.
Jim enjoyed trips with Caroline, family gatherings, outdoor activities and watching sports. Jim had a very good sense of humor and made friends easily.
There will be a celebration of life at 3 p.m. March 23 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Woodland.
