Posted

Karen (Kaye) Louise Chamberlin was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully at home June 2, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born July 30, 1945, in Vancouver, Washington, Kaye was an avid seamstress who enjoyed many years of gardening and canning. She found joy in observing the wildlife outside her window and held a deep affection for all her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Forde and Florence Prouty; her brother, Merle Prouty; her sister and brother-in-law, Daryl and Twylah Redinger; and her great-grandson, Sonny Gillette.

A member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, Kaye was a penitent sinner who was quick to ask forgiveness from those around her.

Kaye is survived by her husband of 40 years, Frank Chamberlin; siblings, Myron (Hope) Prouty, Gene Prouty and Norman (Sandy) Prouty; sister-in-law, Jan Prouty; her children, Tim Gillette of Wasilla, Alaska, Trina (Don) Sasse of Moorcroft, Wyoming, Tonja (Carl) Homola of Yacolt, Kelly (Ward) Toivonen of Yacolt, Mike Gillette of Yacolt, and Jack (Crystal) Gillette of Toledo; as well as 30 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren and a host of Christian friends.
